So I think I may have cursed myself when I said I had been lucky and not very sick. It is 2:10 a.m and I can't sleep. For the last week and especially the last few days, I have had heartburn like you wouldn't believe. I have tried several meds and thought I found the right one today, but no. Because of this, I don't sleep well; I have to sleep sitting up which gets really old really fast, and then when I do actually get some sleep I wake up with every muscle in my neck and back screaming at me. I've tried to be careful of what, when, and how much I eat, but with little success. So all of those out there who know what I am talking about... HELP!!! If you have any advise PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY. My doc said that if none of the otc drugs work, he has some stuff but it doesn't taste too good. Help!

man! I'm so sorry, I don't know what advice I might have...I would take meds the doctor prescribed and they worked pretty good. Aubs had REALLY bad heart burn- maybe ask her..leave a comment on her blog? Good luck! I hope you find something!!!
My advice would be to invest in a comfy recliner! :)
Hey Steph... that is no fun!! I had terrible heartburn the whole time! The only thing that worked (and it only worked sometimes) was Pepcid extra strength. I would wake up in the middle of the night throwing up acid. It was horrible. And you don't want to hear this but the bigger the baby gets the worse it gets! I ended up sleeping in the rocker a lot!!! Hope you can find something that works for you!
We are so pleased at your news! I can't imagine how excited your mom and Mike must be! We have 9, and one more on the way. Brian & Sheena are due about a week after you I think. I hope your dad and Grandma Berrett are picking out a cutie for you, and not one that looks (or acts) like him! Just kidding, cuz he was a darling little boy. I sure hope your "illness" ends soon and you can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. It's not much consolation (especially since I was 2 wks.overdue at the time), but my mom always assured me: "No one has stayed pregnant forever". I wanted to bop her! Take care of yourself! Steph...Sometimes I prefer "priesthood power" but I have never tried it on heart burn. Good Luck! I hope it has improved since you posted.
Hey Steph! Congrats on your pregnancy!! That is so exciting and such a hard journey. So I totally sympathize with the heart burn thing. I had it bad. otc drugs never worked on me. The best are the drugs protonix or prevacid. both pregnancy safe and work like a dream. They can be pretty pricey but after I would take them for like 4 days i could go down to every other day and it still worked great. It is worth the pretty penny to get the sleep and eat normally. just get a script from your doc. Good luck!
